From TedRay: "I really think Warren makes all the difference. Derek is almost always ready to make the journey, but when Warren can string things together it becomes epic. When he starts fanning too much, or hits a bunch of big chords in the middle of a solo, or starts with the 8 and 16 bar trade-offs, instead of really creating something, it can crash and burn. Last night, he played inspired guitar. " Dude, you absolutely nailed it with those comments. That's the difference between a fine, enjoyable yet forgettable ABB show and a transcendent, emotion charged, mind blowing ABB show that provides flashbacks for years to come. Warren's at his best when he patiently developes his solos by exploring different paths, creating naunces, taking two steps forward and one step back, flirting and dancing around the melody, gradually building towards fever pitch until the crowd swoons with anticipation of the inevitable hammer dropping finale. On those nights Warren's a master artist instead of just the best axe slinger on the planet. It's like the difference between cultivating a great buzz all night or doing 12 shots in 12 minutes and being passed out by 9:00. Like a second round knock out vs a 12 round slugfest or skipping from the first to the final chapter of a great book you haven't read in 20 years. Journey vs destination.
