What a beautiful night of music and friendship! Thanks to Greg C for organizing the pre-show gathering. I hope I remembered everyone, but HTW-ers and list-ers and tapers I saw and met yesterday included:
Emily and Jim B, Lana and Shey, Rowland and daughter Sarah, Kirby and Lisa, Greg and Meredith, Tunney and Tracy, Mark and Tricia Johnson, Thomas Pope, Holt, Rob_in_NC, and Steven Gatto.
I asked Derek about when was the last time he's had something thrown at him onstage, and he laughed and indicated that it's been quite some time. Thanks to Joe for "ushering" that idiot right on out of there! Derek had his eyes closed and was "in the zone" when this happened, and I wondered how long it would take him to get back into the flow of the music. Not long!
Cool new Spring Summer 2005 Tour poster! I LOVE it and had all of the guys sign it. Numbered and signed by the artist, too.
I liked the Carolina Theater; the MC (manager?) said there were 900 people in the house last night. It was a nice, appreciative audience--except for one guy. I hope the renovation donation included in the ticket price goes towards improved PA equipment--Marty did a great job in wrestling with limited equipment, I thought.
I REALLY needed that night of astounding music and friendship. I loved the choice of songs. Lana told me I was glowing after the show, and I believe her! Thanks for all of your love and hospitality, Lana, too!
Can you tell I loved last night?
