ah baseball... i feel anyone who holds a record deserves the recognition. baseball has remained the same more than any other sport in terms of rule changes and the basics of the game, and the comparisons between eras hold up better than the other sports. that said, compare aaron and ruth as to home runs per at bat, on base percentage, slugging percentage, and championships...not to mention the babe was 90-30 as a pitcher for the red sox...hammering hank is the home run king, but best player...george herman ruth (or maybe josh gibson - and don't get me started on gehrig and ripkin...but cal has the record whether his dad/manager let him play 2 months batting .125 or not ) roids suck, but it used to be speed...ruth was a sex fiend, cobb and rose thugs...on and on. saints and sinners...it's what they do between the lines that matters. my jaded opinion, of course pat martino tonight and tomorrow...i am psyched! have a great weekend, all!
