Re: Rick T's A vs. D rant: SmilingJack, you nailed it when you said: "We are adults here (for the most part) and don't need no stinking imprimatur from you on our opinions. Join in a discussion, but stop talking AT us and attempting to talk down to all-you have no basis for your perceived position of authority on everything." Yes, we are, generally, adults here. But, in some way or form, every one of Rick's posts has something similar to this line where he's clearly talking to use as if he thinks we are children: "Here's a little warmth exercise. Go to your grandpa and ask to borrow his Derek and the Dominoes LP and play Layla, then juice up your pocket rocket and play the same tune." The topics you raise or comment on, Rick, are generally of interest to many here. It would be more enjoyable and, perhaps, even productive if your dialog with us was not framed in your persistent all-knowing tone. You come here and build yourself up by expounding the virtues of your career accomplishments in the medical field. Big deal. I gave a speech yesterday to over 100 people who walked away knowing a lot more about my topic than when they arrived. Does that mean anything around these parts? Not a bit. Does it mean anything to my two boys, who lost time with their daddy because he spent far too much time in perparing said speech? Definitely not! The same can be said for my wife. In the end, Rick, one is not judged by or remembered for their wealth of knowledge or acclaim, or lack thereof, but rather by the respect and caring they have given to those around them. I'm sure you don't care how you will be remembered here. I just hope that you treat those that are truly 'around' you in a better manner than what I've seen on this site. Because, if not, you will go away a poor, poor soul. Later, Ron
