R.I.P. Uncle Bud

Malcolm "Bud" Allen, 82, of Hixson, went to be home with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a native of Apison and was the son of the late Ernest Wayne Allen and Fenoy Hall Allen.
Mr. Allen was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. During his military career, he served during World War II and the Korean conflict.
Bud, as he was commonly known, was a very devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 50 years, Maria "Loli" Allen; two daughters, Cindy and her husband, Jon McKenzie, of Whiteside, Tenn., and Teresa and her husband, Steve Hornung, of Hixson; three grandchildren, Robert McKenzie and his wife, Stephanie, Allison Blackburn and her husband, Adam, and Kelly McKenzie; two great-grandchildren, A.J. and Jacob Blackburn ; and sister-in-law, Betty Allen.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran church with the Rev. Chris Hansen officiating.
Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
