Personally I'm not a fan of the play-an-album-from-start-to finish. I saw the Mule do that in Chicago last year (Life Before Insanity) and I was practically bored stiff halfway through the first set. As soon as they went into the second tune I knew what they were doing and frankly, I was very disappointed. The only surprise was when they did If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day which is the hidden track of that disc. Some might disagree, but to me it takes away all the unpredictability and spontaneity and makes it seem more like an exercise. When you watch a football game, is it more exciting to have the QB have the freedom to audible at the line of scrimmage and change the play or would you rather have some inept offensive coordinator (John Shoop, Terry Shea-yes, I am a Chicago Bears fan) go with the same boring game plan regardless of whatever defense the other team is in? The best shows I've ever been to is when I had absolutely NO IDEA what the band on stage was going to do next. That's art. Just my 2 cents.
