"How then, can anyone in one breadth honor daddy for their military service, yet howl at the moon and say their war or the conflict they served in was bad or stupid or wrong? That slaps directly in the face of that veteran's service, for as he/she was or is an extension of the US Government and its Commander-In-Chief, so does he/she share in its outcomes for the mission they participated in. " Well Rick, if you want to along with the line of thinking how about if you're a Bush loving Republican and think what we're trying to do in Iraq is a just and noble cause, and you would do anything to "Support the Troops", why do so many of you are so adamantly opposed to re-instituring the military draft? Seems to me that if 19/20 year old sons are to go off to war and fight and die for this cause, it would be much more fair if large portions of these sons came from the ones who support this adventure in the first place. You know I really think the only reason the Bush/Rumsfelt didn't take General Shinseki advice on the number of troops needed for the occupation of Iraq is that it would have probably required the re-institution of the draft to fulfill. Also, if you think all the people in and around the military are in agreement with Bush and Rumsfelt, perhaps you might want to take a visit over to the Whipping Post and read a topic titled "The Generals Speak"? Might surprise you what some former high ranking military officers think and say.
