Back home from the Jam for Duane!! WOW!!!!
It was so wonderful to see all of my friends that I would have never made if it had not been for Duane Allman.
The highlight of the trip??? There was not just one but so many:
David has already described the event so well but he missed one wonderful thing that happened after he and Ellen had left. We were blessed to have Johnny Sandlin join us for a too brief time. It was such a pleasure to be able to thank him for all of his contributions to the music that I love and to especially thank him for his sharing the New Year's resolution that Duane wrote.
Meeting Kim Payne and having long one on one conversations with him were so special.
Seeing Bill Ector and Rick T playing drums was such fun.
Having breakfast with Jack Pearson, Bill E. and Greg was very special.
All the bands: Derek, Lefty's, and Jimmy's with Jack P as well as all that participated in the Saturday jam!!
As always, after a weekend like this, it is hard to come back to the Real World.
Thanks Randy and Brent for a great weekend and thanks to the kind folks in Gadsden that showed us some warm hospitality.
Also a special thanks to Rusty who met me at the airport with directions to Gadsden.
