I am far from a "bleeding heart", frankly I've never voted for a Democrat in my short voting life span of about 15 years nor will I be voting for Kerry. That being said, Bush's war in Iraq has significantly increased the odds of us being blown up by some crazy terrorist. I'm conservative to the bone, but I remember debating folks at work stating that the upcoming conflict was a major mistake, that we have taken our eye off the ball and we are creating a potential fireball that at some point is going to explode. We have made a fatal error in judgement (both parties) much like the Versailles Treaty that ended World War I led to the creation of Nazi Germany, I believer we have set in motion a series of events that will haunt us for many, many years to come and is going to cost us untold billions of dollars and many lives. I personally feel safe, but as a country we are definitely not safer due to the war in Iraq and in my opinion anyone who says they are safer is whistling thru the graveyard.
