Matt,
An absolutley excellent article.
It does have a few bascially insignificant misques. They recorded all three days, 11,12,13 although as you rightly say only the 12th & 13th were used on the original album.
But Hot Lanta on The Fillmore Concerts is from March 11th.
The Allmans just blew Elvin Bishop and
Johhny Winter And away.....it was an outrageous affair.
And hate to say but Woody was wrong about when George Harrison picked up the slide too.
It's actually used on Strawberry Fields where' there's a small descending section in the middle of the song. George Martin mentions George's' "lovely slide part" on the Making Of Sgt.Pepper tape.
The article is Right On in my heart in stating of the historical importance of the of the Allmans Orchestra and all the muscial comparsions, especially in the Jazz field, were just excellent.
Onward to the Smithsonian.
Great great job!!! Bravo!!!
