Well, Happy Birthday to Libby. Lamdog, you mention virul meningitis. I had that when I was a sophomore in high school, not fun at all. Although not as lethal as bacterial, the symptoms are just as bad and they can't treat it with anti-biotics. Probably one of the worst experiences of my life. The spinal tap they gave me I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The reason for the spinal tap is to determine whether it is bacterial or virul. If it bacterial and they catch it quick enough, they can treat it with anti-biotics. Virul you just have to ride it out. My parents were the type of people that wouldn't let you stay home for anything. The day it really hit me, I said to my mother, "I have a horrible headache and feel like I am going to be sick." So she says to me, "Oh just go to school and see how you do. If you don't feel well, I'll come and pick you up." Not 30 seconds later I collapsed on the kitchen floor. 2 hours later I was admitted to the hospital for the next 10 days.....I showed her!!!
