I have never been as proud of Atlanta as I was this weekend. Perhaps everyone is tired of hearing about The Fox and that is understandable, but just know that the ' road that goes on forever' stopped here for a moment in time... I don't move in the circles that would bring me close to the things that I experienced, so I am as amazed as anyone to the new trip. The first person I met was Jamoie. This was by accident. I was just trying to find the hospitality room at the GT. After seeing Dino and Brent's pictures on the HTW: the hospitality room at the Beacon, I just knew that was the place to be. Never made it. Jamoie was standing outside the GT all by his lonesome. To me it was like walking up a path and there stands Elvis. Didn't expect it and walked up, shook his hand and said stupid fan things. Brofan walked by and although I'd never met him, I knew him from the pictures posted here. We all greeted each other like brothers and tried to get a pix with Jaimoe. Jaimoe was patient as we all exchanged camera batteries wondering why nothing was happening. I think out of three cameras, we got one picture of us with Jaimoe. I think he'd been there with fans a million times and was like Job, being patient and all. Later, at The Cotton Club I was left waiting for a friend who was trying to find a cheaper parking place. That's when I started up a conversation with BIGDAVE. I didn't know that he was BIGDAVE. We were talking about his wonderful wallhanging tapestry that he had of Duane ( signed by everyone in the ABB) and I asked him if he had everyone signed and he said no; he needed Jack to sign. At that moment Jack Pearson walked behind him...I said , there he is! BIGDAVE went a runnin'. My only mistake with BIGDAVE was telling him ( like Jeff Bridges in that movie: "I'm the DUDE!") that I was Tandan. He hit my shoulder and said "Man! I know you!" OWWW! Has anybody measured this guy? BIGDAVE is massive, but as I found out quickly, a gentle hearted soul. I wished now that I would've spent more time with him, which I surely will in the future. Lana then walked by and gave me a hug. I would've had a very hard time picking her out of a crowd because of her weight loss; but I would know that smile anywhere! She was so happy and in a hurry to go nowhere... Last, but not least was RickT and his beautiful wife. I couldn't resist playing a trick on him; standing behind him as he talked to me on a cellphone. He would describe what he was wearing and I would ask more questions, and he would keep talking and then Mara saw me...its a great thing when a stranger puts out a hand to shake and you just hug the person!! That is what this site has brought me. Brofan, RickT, BIGDAVE, Lana and countless others. Folks that I would never have met any other way. I am so sorry I missed Carol, Ryan and others that I PM'd. I did greet Hophead, JNB, and others. This post has nothing to do with The Fox shows. They are now golden and have been recorded for the ages... This post is about what Lana and Rowland showed us all in a dream long ago... that kindred spirits would find you if you had the wisdom to wait... thanks to all involved with this great weekend. Peace.
