Guest Book

Hey, everyone, Due to circumstances beyond our control -- wind, water, and so forth (don't worry -- we're fine, our backyard's just not up to having people over, to put it mildly), after consulting with People Whose Judgment We Trust, and after lying awake in bed nearly all night last night worrying about letting down the side, we're moving the preshow to Charlotte's most recently opened Mellow Mushroom, in the gloriously funky and eclectic NoDa Arts District, a quick 'n' easy drive from the Interstates and to and from the venue. (I mean, as easy as the back way from our place is to get to Verizon, this is 2 miles closer to the venue along that route.) I spoke with the GM today, and they're bringing in extra staff to accomodate us. The setting is an old, gigantic, refurbished (or is it new?) house, with a big wraparound porch, where inside, the laws of gravity are...different. (You'll see -- it's WAY cool.) Because NoDa is a special event and nighttime district (Gallery Crawl, for example, is Friday night, and the Neighborhood Theatre and Evening Muse and WineUp and Bricktop Lounge -- hip, eclectic music venues all -- don't start until we're long gone), we'll pretty much have the run of the place. I'll post directions tomorrow to the listservs, and I'll post this invitation on the Guest Book tonight, and the directions over on Hittin The Web (www.allmanbrothersband.com ) on the Forum under "anything goes" and "Charlotte preshow" and under "Peach Parties" and "Charlotte preshow." Beth, Sarah, Chris and I are all looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend at the Mellow Mushroom. I'm saying 4 (we may not get there until shortly after), but come on over early or late!
