Yes, the situation in Florida is bad indeed. Add Gulf Shores to that as well.
It will take time, but the situation WILL get better. Normally, the rebound is better than what folks had at the time they were hit, although this will not be the case for everybody.
Has anyone heard from Red Dog? He lives down that way.
Talked with my best friend from high school , and they lost their condo. Insured thru Lloyds of London.....total loss but they hope to rebuild better than what they had. Know also of a guy who had just sold his real estate portfolio before the hurricane....he is very lucky.
Also heard a story that a gas station in Birmingham ran out of regular gas the day of the storm. They LOWERED the price of mid-grade and premium to regular prices so folks would not have to spend more money. That is class.
