Yule Time Mule 2004-09-17 13:39:28 Gov't Mule has once again announced plans to spend New Years Eve at New York's Beacon Theater. Since December 2002, the Beacon has served as Warren Haynes' favorite spot to celebrate the ball's drop, before which time the Mule traditionally spent New Years Eve in Atlanta, GA. On the heels of Deja Voodoo's release, Gov't Mule will continue to tour through the end of the year, with coast-to-coast dates scheduled through December. Haynes is well on his way to earning a record for most Beacon Theater appearances. In addition to his annual New Years Eve spots, Haynes performs each March at the Beacon as a member of the Allman Brothers, clocking in dozens of dates in the mid-1990s and early 2000s. Haynes has also stopped by Beacon on occasion as a member of Phil & Friends, who traditionally spend a few nights in uptown New York each December(though no dates are currently scheduled for this fall). This December, the Mule has scheduled Beacon appearances on December 30 and 31. In addition, the Mule have welcomed a string of special guests to the stage during each of their Beacon stops, ranging from Kid Rock to John Scofield to the enigmatic Joey Arkenstat. While no opening acts have been announced just yet, one can expect a few familiar faces to stop by for New Year's. Pre-sale begins on September 24 for both shows.
