Tragedy always s.u.c.k.s., and seems like there is too much of it these days.
My heart goes out to Dereks Family, as I have a son myself.
As for remaking EAP, Warren doesn't have Dicky's guitar sound. It'll come close, but no cigar. I think a new hit would be in order, new album, woops, CD that is.
