Good evening, y'all. Luke, my man, no need to apologize for wanting a little more Dickey talk. I do think some folks have been somewhat hesitant to bring him or his band up because it was such a sore spot for a long time. Seemed like every time the name Dickey Betts surfaced, things got nasty. It was damn near impossible to talk about the man or his work intelligently, because the fax and all that mess always entered into it, and it was a very emotional issue for a lot of people. But now, it seems like things have kind of calmed down. Like Randy said recently, it seems like the eggshells we've all been walking on have gotten stronger. I've seen Dickey mentioned a lot more lately, and almost always with fondness and admiration. I am very curious to hear about how the new band sounds, and in particular how he and Dangerous Dan are playing together. So, for those of you that have reviews to share, by all means share 'em! 🙂 Marley, you asked a couple of days ago for ideas for what to name the new album. I've always liked the mental picture of a guardian angel wearing a hardhat--kind of makes me think of the famous Norman Rockwell painting "Rosie The Riveter" for some reason. So, my idea is to call the album "Guardian Angel", and for cover art I have this image in my head of a guardian angel wearing a hardhat. Only she isn't some sweet, sugar 'n spice angel, but rather a kind of tough, no-nonsence one, maybe with a tattoo, conveying a certain attitude through her expression--ala "Rosie The Riveter." And maybe on her hardhat could be the classic stacked script Allman Brothers logo. Anyway, that is just an idea that I had. Everybody have a good night. EAPFP.
