WHY'D YOU GO AND LEAVE US LONELY, BOYS?
A couple months ago, a handler for Los Lobos told us that the East L.A. rock vets had turned down a chance to perform on the Latin Grammy Awards telecast because they had already booked dates at the Minnesota State Fair bandshell Sept. 1-2. Obviously, the Grammys gig would have been better, but the guys didn't want to bow out of the commitment. Flash forward to last week, when another ``Los'' rock band, hot Texas trio Los Lonely Boys, cited exhaustion and canceled their tour with the Allman Brothers Band, including the Aug. 31 gig at the Minnesota State Fair. Now guess which nationally televised awards show Los Lonely Boys have just been added to appear on Sept. 1?
