Atlanta people, please, please, please do not listen to Radio Station 92.9 Dave FM. This was formally called Z93 and one day last week, in the middle of the week, in the middle of the day they took over the station, fired the General manager and all the DJ's and started to play really crappy music with no DJ's at all. They are trying to hype this change as what Atlanta wanted but it is certainly not wanted we wanted. I am totally devasted. Z93 was the only station we ever listened to. They had the best DJ's and sometimes the best music. They played lots of Allman Brothers and not just Rambling Man either. Yeah we would have liked to have them play some newer stuff like Gov't Mule, Robert Randolph and some of the Jam Bands and they were starting to do that. They would have special weekends and one DJ, named Dunham, in particular would spotlight jam type bands on his late night shows as well as hosting a Grateful Dead hour. We were very happy with Z93 and really excited about the different things they were trying to do. Now Z93 is gone, the DJ's are gone and this abomination called Dave FM is on and they think they can convince us that this is what we want. Please boycott 92.9. Change your presets to never tune in this channel again. Write them emails telling them how you feel. Go the Atlanta Journal & Constitition and make your feelings known in their vent column...there have been plenty of vents already since this had happened. Let the corporate suits know that they cannot dictate what we want, they do not know what kind of music we want to hear. One on one interaction with DJ's and the wisdom to let the DJ's pick the music is the only way we get what we want. Firing the best DJ's in the city of Atlanta without even a warning is not what we wanted, this was a despicable act and shows that they don't give a crap about what we want they just want to tell us what we want. Let's show them exactly what we think about thier actions by turning away in droves. Sorry about the rant, I am very upset about this and so is Greg. Barb Potter P.S. Dave FM is an Infinity Broadcasting radio station, which has replaced Clear Channel in my book as the devil incarnate.
