Another "Hippy Country" artist that comes to mind is David Bromberg. I used to see him frequently back in the 70's. So much more than country, though. You look at bands today like SCI and the wide variety of music they play and Bromberg had to be the first to do anything along those lines. Too bad he rarely ever plays live anymore. I guess it's just in the Northeast these days.
