To take Red Dog's comments a little further with respect to people not really discovering DB unitl Duane was gone............ And I think this was touched on recently during discussions of Solos on the Filmore East Album..... but........
It is amazing how many people assume that all the great solos are Duane. I'll say it again I was really surprized (a long long time ago) when I figured out that most of my favorite moments/solos from the Filmore East Album are indeed DB. And His work in 72 & 73 is nothing less than incredible as well.
It goes without saying that he had some real bright spots all through the 80s & 90s as well.
I can't say enough good things about the New Archive release to do it justice. Buy it and listen to it!
