Hey all, long time no type... gotta chip in and just say it's really nice to read people digging Jack. (especially since so many people were so against him when he joined - "why's he always searching for pennies?" springs to mind 🙂 ) Anyone who knows me will know I dig the living hell out of his playing, shame I only got to see him at the Beacon in 99 - would've loved to have seen him in 97, his playing had a slightly more airy, wispy kind of floating tone to it... He got a bit more aggressive towards the end. Anyway, anyone that likes his playing, check out some of his session work, it is all awesome. Particular fave is Smoky Greenwell, "blow-out", which is some harp-led new olreans jazzy funky album, very nice. It's also got Johnny Neel on keys as well - the last song is a big ole' slow blues which Jack absolutely rips apart. If there could ever be a perfect slow blues solo, that for me would be it!
