There really are no right or wrong answers, but I've always been amused by the debates over EC and Duane. 🙂 I think both men were in awe of each other and definitely had alot of respect for each other's gift.
I've been touched by both, even today Duane Allman can still take me to the mountain. I listened to FE in it's entirety yesterday. To this day I can't describe the feelings I get when I listen to it. I'm the same way regarding the Layla album.
Music is a universal language, it knows no boundaries. If it touches you, comforts you, heals you, makes you laugh, makes you cry, makes you think or moves you to the point that you feel you are going to soar through the clouds with angels, then embrace it and let it take you there.
Eric Clapton and Duane Allman are at the top of my list of influential musicians. They were involved with 2 of my most favorite albums of all time. Eric and Duane on Layla and Assorted Love Songs and "you know who" on Live At The Fillmore East.
