Dear Lana, Rowland and the Guestbook,
I am overwhelmed at all the kind words I have just read…the power of love is very moving…I am truly touched!
A while back I felt a lump in my neck. With my mother having died of cancer I was more than a little concerned. She had her first cancer surgery in her 40s and both my sister and I have had lumps show up this year. The lumps I felt turned out to be nodules in the thyroid. There is a 15% chance that these can be cancerous but the only way to tell is to take them out. Fortunately, they were benign and I was able to keep half my thyroid. My sister’s was benign as well so there is much to be thankful for!
The experience has certainly given me pause for reflection…I am so thankful for the life that I lead and the good friends I am surrounded by. Mark Twain said if you do what you love you’ll never work a day in your life. That’s how I feel – it’s just plain fun working for Hittin’ the Note, meeting all of you kind people and listening to great music! Hope to meet more of you on the road this summer!
As soon as I get some strength back I will write up the Bonnaroo experience from this past weekend – way too much fun! It was a great way to keep my mind off of surgery. Got a chance to hang with Warren, Jimmy, Phil, Matt and 90,000 other cool people!
I can’t believe sweet Lana put me on the front page! You gave me a big smile, sister!
Thanks again for the kind words…
JNB
