Congrats to all on the recent birth!Just throwing out some random thoughts here...Early '93 was an interesting era. Different versions (arrangements, vocalists etc.) on the songs eventually released in '94. Acoustic set, including on ten occasions, Little Martha. '94 was a solid year throughout. Favorite moment was Great Woods show 8/14 after they'd played Woodstock that afternoon. They were ON! '95 after several early shows that included Heart Of Stone etc. was pretty much a wash. Went the rest of that year basically alternating between two setlists on different nights. Real disappointed with that, just some check cashing going on. '96 had some real solid moments, particularly the 35+ minute True Gravity performances.I really enjoy Jack Pearson as an outstanding musician. I thought THE highlights of '98 were the Beacon acoustic sets when they played a lot of his material (Everyday, I'm Not Crying, plus If I Had Possession Over Judgment Day). I never thought that they really ever let Jack "out of the box" much while he was in the band. Those acoustic sets maybe being the exception. I saw Derek at Sandstone four days into "the fold" during '99. Although he appeared a bit stiff at times, and who wouldn't that early on, I could still hear the potential of greatness that he would bring to the band. The late August, early Sept. shows were particularly good, after he'd settled in.Give me Duane and Berry any day. Man how I miss those guys!
