Good mornin' sweet family, My Dad joined the 6th Company, 2nd Regiment, 1st Battalion of Darby’s Rangers in May of 1943. He achieved the rank of Master Sergeant and was awarded four overseas service bars, a European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one Silver Battle Star, the Good Conduct Medal, the Purple Heart Medal with two bronze clusters and the Combat Infantry Badge. My brother Patrick belongs to the 724 Nat'l Guard Unit and recently returned from over a year in Iraq where one of his assignments was chauffering military brass around. The company commander chose him because he heard Patrick could shoot a rifle accurately one-handed while driving 40 miles an hour. They even built a target course to test his skills. He aced the test but confessed, "It's no big deal. Anyone from Wisconsin can do it - it's called road hunting!" Take care and know that you are loved, Lana
