smilin'jack, Both DVD-Audio and SACD CAN be 5.1, but not all are. May of the Dylan SACDS are not 5.1-about 40% or so of the box is remixed in 5.1. You must have either a 5.1 decoder built into your CD player (if it's either SACD or DVD-A compatible they will probably have one built in) or have one in your receiver or amp. It's really important to get everything dialed in right-mine is not 100% in synch either and I am missing some of Dylans's vocals when I listen to the 5.1 mix of Blonde On Blonde. I'm sure I don't have it completely hooked up properly. There are a lot of settings that you need to set in both your CD player and your receiver to get the full potential of your system. I need some technician to make a house call so I crank it to the max.
