M-Howard, my deepest condolences. Thinking of you and your family today. A belated birthday to Eddie, current greetings to Shey and Floyd Miles. I don't want to let this "Eat A Peach" quote from Duane pass without a bit of context from one who was around at the time. As I remember, the interviewer was from Rolling Stone. The point Duane was trying to make was that his music wasn't connected to politics. (Y'all might have noticed my agreement with this view.) Now this was seen as an outrageous insult to the peace/hippie movement, especially coming from some unwashed white guy from a suspect area of the country. Duane's disrespect was punished by the dissing of the music that evolved from him by almost all mainstream media for decades to come. The Rolling Stone #2 rating last year was a way of saying penitance was over, sentence served. Now all this is just my opinion, yours is just as valid.
