Take a good listen to the jamming at the end of Every Hungry Woman on the new One Way Out CD. WOW!
Memories from Warren and Phil 4/30/01. What a show. I think they did Help>slip> the 11>Franklins. Or something crazy like that. Roseland was either way oversold or there were counterfeit tix all over the place. Jammed to the point of dangerous. The proverbial " Fire Marshal" whoever that guy I've been hearing about all these years is, ; ) would not of been pleased. I think it must of been during the Phish hiatus because there were 15 year old kids drooling on themselves along the walls not paying attention to the music. I staked out a place way in the back next to the bar with a friend on crutches from a motorcycle crash. We had a blast. Yes Warren was a monster that night. I've seen Phil play Blue Sky before but I think that was the Jimmy and Jeff Pevar line up. Did they play it that night also?
That summer at Jones Beach belonged to Jimmy Herring IMO. What a show that was. Also, Phil and Warren at Irving Plaza in 2002 for the CD release party was great. They played straight ahead that night. Warren's sound in Irving Plaza is missed ! I think the ABB or the Dead should play "the real thing" off the Phil CD. Great tune by Warren. I wonder if it's about Allen Woody sometimes. Check out the lyrics.
