'What Ron E said. What Rick said. I don't think anyone here disrespects Red Dog as a veteran, on any level. I don't think anyone here disrepects Red Dog's place and value in the history of the Allman Brothers Band. I truly thank him for all he has done on both fronts. What I do think and see is persons here simply, at times, disagreeing with what he says/writes/thinks as a person who posts on the GB. It's that simple to me. Whoever posts here may be subject to an alternate opinion. We all know that. It's a 'risk' in throwing a post out there for the world to see/digest. But, it seems, when someone 'counters' Red Dog - whether it be supposed facts or an opinion, that person tends to get attacked by 'True Fans', pro-DB/anti-ABB folks, and/or RD himself. At some point, typically, Red Dog tells us we 'don't know what we're talking about', etc and that his personal opinions are facts (b/c of his time served with the band). Then things get a little 'nasty' around here. That, to me, is a fairly fruitless cycle that continues to repeat itself time and time again. No one should be 'untouchable' here - not me, Butch, Tom, Dick, Harry, nor Red Dog. I assume we're all here b/c, on some level, we have a deep, deep appreciation for the Allman Brothers Band - yesterday, today, or tomorrow - or all 3. If that's not the case then there is a true agenda - whatever it may be. I know this - I don't hang out and post on band's website I don't like...and if I did I would probably write negative stuff and try to stir things up. I would question things that maybe have no real point, etc. But, instead, I hang here and enjoy the time...and look forward to meeting most of you on the road...learn a little more about the ABB...share excitement about upcoming shows...spread music - Generally enjoy the sh!t out of the whole gig here on the GB. I'll continue doing that - and, along the way, respectfully choose to disagree with some views. No harm in that. Thank God for the Allman Brother Band - past, present, future. I'll be at the shows until there are no shows. 😎
