Red Dog: As always, I read your posts and then I re-read them to best try and understand where you are. Actually, your words have several meanings within them and for me, it's a good idea to re-read them before making any comment. In general, I presume that you are not on speaking terms with Warren or Gregg or JJ or Butchie, lest you post in here. Otherwise, I guess you would have said you have told them these very things prior to writing them, and printing their responses. I for one would go to a reunion tour, and if this website had any clout in such matters, then a I recommend Lana have a poll setup asking would you support a reunion tour? If the money was there, then I guess there would be a promotor or two that would pick up on it and put it out there. But read on.... Now granted, I personally dont know squat what goes on in this Band, but I do know one thing; if Gregg Allman or Dickey Betts got on the phone and called in a few of their chips they are owed and said they want a reunion tour, there would be one. Or, if they were so committed to the concept, they would bankroll it themselves and put it out there. I dont see Gregg or Dickey burning up the phones or making a mad dash to the bank to pull it together. So I must presume they dont WANT it to happen. Words are just that. Words. Its the actions man that make the difference. I understand your passion to keep the original Brothers together at all costs. Being one of the ones who drove that idea into the ground to the point I was banned from this website, I feel I can say I supported the same idea. But like a divorce, a lot of times the family is better off with the new bride, and Warren is good for this family. Dickey got the shaft and was treated like crap and lied to and it got ugly and there are still deep wounds there, so in my opinion, a reunion tour would never work....the politics would get in the way huge. As much as this might hurt you Dog, I dont think Brother Dickey is missed in the Band, and I dont think you are either. I have nothing but respect for you Dog and I wish you nothing but the best, but the old ABB died and the new ABB is....and frankly needs to.....get its own set of legs and be given the space to do its thing. Where it goes is where it goes, but I think personally in a musical sense, its will go even higher than it is now, and then we can see how high that is compared to the original Band...a pretty tough challenge in its own right, right?
