facts are true or false, and can be proven or disproven, or supported or discredited by mashalling evidence. opinions, you have the right to have, and within limits, the right to express. it is, however, the considered view of many people that just because one is privy to a fact, true or false, or holds a strongly held opinion, baseless or well-founded, that time, place and audience make the expression of that fact or opinion less than gracious. watching this guestbook, it is evident to me, and this is my opinion, and i think this IS the time and place to state it, that some folks try to time their criticism of or observations about this band and its situation to coincide with the moments when it will have the effect of deflating congratulations and distracting from justifiably high expectations, and derailing the fun. hey, look at ME over here. come back to reality -- well, ***** that. i also my opinion that it is in extraordinarily bad taste for ex-employees of the band to make assertions -- to cast negative aspersions on band members' motives, for example -- on the band's fan website, based on information implicitly verified by the status of the poster as an ex-employee of the band. In fact, anything negative at ALL anyone says about an ex-employer on their fan website seems extraordinarily ungracious. True or false, right or wrong, where I'm from, I think we call it talking out of school, and you just go ahead and do all of it you want. I won't be buying your books, either, because although I'd LIKE to just send you some money for all you did for what I love, I don't want to exchange my filthy lucre for the down-and-dirty gossip. Post your address and I WILL put a check in the mail. Sign me, the only person apparently willing to say publically what people say in private. Ungracious? Yeah, but what I just saw in NYC is SO much better -- and salable -- than it was 5 years ago, and my biases are evident.
