Charlesinator,
Gonna Move is a Paul Pena tune, I believe, and was covered by Les Dudek on either Gypsy Ride or Ghost Town Parade. I couldn't believe it the first time I heard Derek play it-I hadn't heard that tune in almost 25 years.
BTW, as I posted previously, Les's first CD, Les Dudek, has been just reissued on Wounded Bird records. It is a label that takes requests for reissues-you can e-mail them and they will take certain titles under consideration. I had e-mailed tham requesting that they reissue all of Les's LPs on Columbia (including the DFK Band) and they sent me an e-mail back saying they were reissuing his first solo LP on CD. How's that for service?
It is one of the great guitar records of all time. His slide playing is still the closest I have heard to Duane's for tone, intonation, and overall feel-he wasn't copping Duane's riiffs but he sure was invoking his spirit.
I highly recommend this disc for any ABB fan or just any fan of American music. It is great. Sounds like it was remastered too-it sounds better than the Japanese import I found about 15 years ago.
You can pick it up at www.cheap-cds.com for $8.99 + shipping. It'll be one of the best buys you ever make. Trust me on this one-you'll feel the hair on the back of your neck stand up when you hear Les ripping his slide on Sad Clown or Take The Time.
Sorry. It's just a GREAT record.
