EddieP - Great post man. You definitely summed up my thoughts following the Beacon run this year. This is as good as it has ever been in my concert going lifetime (which did not include seeing the original lineup).
And as far as a multiple night run, I don't think even the original could match the diversity that the current band has shown. All formulas have been thrown out the window in favor of an unpredictability that makes every show stand by itself as an event. It's a great time for this band, especially Greg, Jaimoe and Butch. We owe these guys a debt of gratitude for keeping things alive, and they owe us for allowing them to do so over the long haul. Just like a family, the road goes on forever.
