Man just going back through the posts and it is definately cool talking about whose favorite pickers are whom. Love everybody's opinion and the fact that they're are all different to a degree. And love the fact that nobody broke down and wanted to fight about it. For here that's pretty remarkable. Josh I thought your ranking of the guitarists was the best. Just a little more of my .02. Charlesinator's favorite guitar duo (omitting the original lineup): Warren & Dickey. The reasons why - 7 Turns, Shades & BWIAB, taking my wife on our first date to see the 89 reunion tour. That line up more than any other line up is responsible for why things are going so strong today for the ABB, HTN, HTW, Kid Glove, hell the whole Jam Band scene. Charlesinator's fovorite ABB bass players? Well they are probably Reddog's least favorite but they are Allen Woody and Rook Goldflies. Allen for reasons expressed in my fave ABB guit duo commentary. Allen was a hell of a bass player. I find myself often going I can't believe he's gone. Sure the thought is way more prevalent when listening to the Mule but his contributions to the music of the Brothers is heavy as well. All of y'all who question my sanity need to put on 7 Turns, Shades then BWIAB back to back then think about what I'm saying. "Why Rook?" Well because I remember was it 78 or 79 and the Allman Brothers were making an attempt at getting back together. If they could forgive Gregg for ratting on Scooter why couldn't I? They came out with a what I thought was a great album Enlightened Rogues. Dreams of the band soaring as high as they did in the heyday of Brothers and Sisters danced in my head. I went and saw them a Carrowinds (my first time) and it was so magical. I remember Rook's performance being a standout of that show. He may have other social issues but gee who doesn't. He played some very nice lines probably still does. As we know the Enlightened Rogues turned out to be not so enlightened and failed on their promise. Fast forward to 89-90 another line up another promise but this time a promise delivered into fuition. It's funny but each line up always has promise. Some deliver for some of us and some don't as much others have but their is always the promise. Peace y'all. ------------------------------------------------- "Don't come round here branging any of that bad rain. Can't ya see I got troubles of my own."
