I remember when DBB first came around with Warren. The first show I saw with them, was at Chestnut Cabaret in Philly. When Warren launched into his incredible slide solo, during Blue Sky, Dickey was just looking out at the crowd and then pointing at Warren, like he was saying "look at my boy, sounds like Duane, eh?" Dickey really showcased Warren in that band, much in the same way he showcased Dan in the original GS. I always admired that about Dickey and I think he realized it added so much to the music and in a way, created more inspiration for his solos.
I'm also a huge fan of those summer 99 versions of Blue Sky. Long, stretched out versions.
