Derek certainly is unique. It is amazing what he has done thus far with the slide. Thing is, I find his straight playing just as amazing. His rhythm just blows me away...so tasty. :guitarist: And the straight riffs he fires off...yowsa!
I was listening to Liz from FE today and thinking about how great the rhythm Duane and Dickey were playing was. No bashing barre chords...very sophisticated...backing each other up...Derek plays rhythm like that. And it amazes me how he does that all in an open tuning! Eek gads! Talent like his is rare indeed! 🙂
