One thing I have not seen mentioned re: Janet incident is what I would call the Michael Moore perspective. Michael Moore has pointed out that CBS would not air the 'true majority' anti-Bush commercials during the super bowl because the FCC has allowed CBS to own and operate an excessive amount of television stations. Basically, he was saying that it was an exchange of political favors.
Now fast forward to a few weeks ago where the new FCC penalties went into effect. Something like $245,000 for saying a bad word on the air. Imagine indecent exposure.
Now fast forward to the Janet incident. CBS has to play it low key here. It's CBS who can be nailed but the political favor will probably stop that. Even if it was Janet/Justin or a clothing malfunction (yeah right) its a strict liability crime..... (ie. Speeding is speeding and you broke the law).
We all know that our radio stations have a built in delay for bad words. I cannot believe that there is no delay on the super bowl production.
CBS should be punished by taking its excessive stations away. Anyone want to start a poll on whether they will plea bargain out of this by showing for free some not-for profit Bush esq. morally religiously proper commercials. Of course this will be allegedly for free. But in reality it will just be another political favor.
