The only guitarist that skyponydogboy left out of his lineup of greats is himself! I am not exaggerating by saying he could stand toe-to-toe with anyone, and I mean anyone ever discussed on this or any other website. Of course, he's too modest to say that, and maybe even too modest to let me get away with saying saying it without a pshaw being forthcoming, but that's the truth of how I hear, the dude can flat-out cook! I always gotta giggle a bit when I see how upset and angry some folks around here get at "critics." At times I'd have to include myself in that too, so don't anyone say that this is a holier-than-thou kind of observation. Every time I've given into the temptation though, I've looked back and giggled at myself too because I got so excited about something that mattered so little. If I were a person who was looking for music I could enjoy, the very last thing I would do is go to my local newsstand and buy a magazine where some writer I never heard of could describe the music in words to me. No, I think I'd take another tack, like maybe cruise the web and listen to sound clips of a band who's coming to my town, or go to a record store that has that "listen-before-you-buy" technology, or any of a myriad of other ways of trying out something new. Now, in this case, not one single person who has posted how upset they are, or that they wrote nasty letters to the Editor, none of you are new fans of ABB and I'd venture that it's safe to say that none of you were swayed one iota by the review that has you so upset. I'd also venture that it's safe to say that not one single prospective new fan will be swayed either, because anyone looking for a new musical experience isn't going to look in Billboard to find it! It's alright with me though. Y'all go ahead. I am enjoying finding out who wears what when whoopin'-it-up! LOL For my .02 worth, I've saved some money this year on wardrobe. Basic Fall colors hospital gown(s), two bath robes rotated between washings, sweats-and-a-T-shirt while sitting (or actually lying down) in front of the TV with videos of The Fillmore, Great Woods (both commercial release and PPV from a few years back), some BHLT, some Dickey Betts & Great Southern (VERY cool present from a VERY cool friend!) some Frogwings and some DTB played instead of the game-shows or court shows that would've otherwise been my choices. Ahhh....the good life. Now back to y'all's tieing that reviewer to the Whippin' Post! LOL Peace, Tom S.
