Hey all... First, a HUGE thank you goes once again to Jason for sending the Jam for Duane CD's. I got them Friday, and really spent time listening to them, and I have got to say for those who have not attended one of these jam sessions to really think about a trip to 'Bama next year, because the music and the IDEA of honoring Duane and Berry is, when you think about it, sorta a mandate for us who love the ABB; to make sure we do our part to keep the roots of the ABB alive and fresh in our hearts. Not to preach here, nevertheless the ABB has within them these roots of Duane and Berry, but the Band is off right now in a different direction. Not at all to take anything away from the fresh approach to the music (not to mention the new music itself), I guess what I am trying to say here is that the Band cannot itself carry that load of telling the story as it were of Duane and Berry. Through the Jam, we have the opportunity once a year to do just that. So, if you have the opportunity to hear the Jam, great. And next year, I would like to say that if we plan ahead and we lay some differences aside, we can all support the Jam and attend and give Duane and Berry a big 'ol reason to smile down upon us...and maybe the magic will be passed down that night on all of us. Let's make 2004 the year the Jam is put on the map. Rick Tomlinson
