Chris, I'm sorry to read of more bad news. All the best to you, your family, and your friends in need. Thanks again for all of my birthday wishes yesterday. Scott, you were right--I was at the dTb Richmond show. What nice ending to my birthday! They opened with Leaving Trunk and ended with Joyful Noise and Pedro. "Newer" tunes included their cover of King Curtis's Memphis Soul Stew and Volunteered Slavery. Jim B (who left here around 11 a.m. headed for Raleigh--great seeing you again, Jim!) thought he noticed Mike mentioning to Derek that they should do more instrumentals because of Mike's shredded voice. So, we also got So Close, So Far Away (I love that tune) and Cheesecake. The Sahib>Maki>Sahib medley was sweet. I also love the way they tweak tunes they've been playing for awhile. The crowd keeps getting bigger each time they come through here. I'll bet the Lincoln Theatre will be packed again tonight like it was last January! I wish I could join you down there! Enjoy the show! Thanks again, friends!
