Hi all:
Well, I have not had too much sleep since Saturday, nevertheless I want to first of all say a huge thank you to Brent, Randy, Tom, Diane, and everyone else who participated in the Jam for Duane this weekend. It was, without question, a first class event and those who made sure the rubber met the road should be thanked by all in the ABB community for this act of love and musicianship. Hell, a free gig featuring ABB music? Need anything else be said???
Beyond that, not that anyone gives a crap about what I am about to say, but I have to go on and preach a little here. The details do not matter in themselves, but I can say that I know I gave all I had musically, and that was because that group up there was in the zone...we pushed one another and fed of of each other and went to that place musically where you know your 'nads are stretched out but you don't pull back at all....your not overplaying, but you are listening and staying in a collective pocket, climbing higher all the while.
Brent is a special guitar player to me, and I have always enjoyed playing with him. Saturday, Brent was note for note on it, and his tone was perfect. It inspired me, and I am grateful I was a part of the overall experience, both as listner and as participant.
And the venue in itself is perfect. It's of a vintage that reminds you of ABB gigs when Duane was around, it was comfortable and plenty of room for everyone. As for the locals, they were cool and gave everyone plenty of space to enjoy themselves. The sound guys were great to work with and the sound quality was excellent. Lastly, the love and friendship displayed was simply awsome.
I cannot wait for a copy of the show, and again I simply was spent after it and want to say thank you to all.
