Another great post by Rob about GABBA. I wish I could get down there some year. Thanks to Barb and Greg--and all involved! Nice shots of Paul Rossi getting his hair cut for charity in the Fans pictures--way to go, Paul!
In addition to Lana's recommendation of the Raleigh show from Instant Live, that show also featured Susan Tedeschi and Karl Denson sitting in.
Karl's flute solo on Desdemona from the 8/9 Charlotte show is pretty darn fine, too! Although Butch wasn't thrilled about playing Mountain Jam for a second night in a row (listen for an angry cymbal crash after a long pause for conversation onstage), there are many fun teases in MJ from Charlotte--including Weather Report's "Birdland" and "AfroBlue".
I also wish the Scranton show was available this way.
Man, did we have fun playing last night! It's getting better and better! I hope some of you can join us someday.
I look forward to hearing about what went on in the mountains of eastern PA this weekend...if it can be printed, of course!
