Thanks for the great Duane story - the closest I got to "meeting" Duane was on the night of 3/13/71, when the Fillmore had emptied out due to a bomb scare in the middle of Elvin Bishop's late show set. I was out on the street, when all of a sudden all 6 of ABB were right in front of me walking down the street together talking. I wanted to say something to Duane, but was totally speechless. I wish I could put into words what hearing and seeing Duane and the ABB play meant to me.
