Hey Ya'll, We told you about Brother Bob's sinking ships but this is the latist of his wild adventrues we just had to pass a copy of his e-mail on to all of you Brothers and Sisters!!! lol lol lol From Captian Bob; You never know from day to day what surprises life might spring on you. This morning a herd of cattle and several horses escaped from one of our neighbors. Many of them were in our yard dining on Donnas flowers. I was getting ready to take my long morning walk. When I saw the cattle in my yard, I hopped in my jeans instead and grabbed my lasso. Some of the other neighbors saw what was happening, hopped in their trucks, five of them and tried to corral them in. The sheriff who is one of my neighbors blocked all of the traffic to our neighborhood. Caught most of the live stock right away, but not after getting kicked and slammed around a few times. Those cows are strong !
Three of the Herefords broke through our makeshift corral. I managed to lasso one of them from the back of my pickup truck as it went by. Big mistake. I was yanked out of the truck like an ant in a whirlwind. That animal bolted into the wooded area dragging me along the ground, through mounds of cactus and lots of rocks shredding my jeans and beating the crap out of me in the process. The rest of the neighbors finally caught up with me and got a few more ropes on it between fits of insane laughter about my very negative experience. They wanted to know why I didn't let go of the rope. I don't know why. I just knew that animal was not going to get away from me, no matter what. Sometimes you never know what you would do in a situation like this until it happens to you.
After checking for broken bones, just knew I broke a few LOL ) None, still alive, hurt all over. Will take a lifetime to remove cactus thorns........ The rest of this day is going to be spent nursing bruises, picking cactus thorns and nursing a few Coors lite.
