Thoughts out to those in need. Thanks to the generosity of a friend's wealthy friend, I had the privilege of witnessing Beck and BB from second row dead center at Chastain Saturday night. For those of you who think Chastain sucks as a venue (I agree), try it from the vantage point of Table #11 and I'll bet you may think a wee bit differently. Anyway, Beck was so damn good and completely blew me away. Which got me to thinking about another band that does that to me more times than not. Perhaps a summer tour with Jeff Beck opening for the ABB would fill up those amphitheatres to capacity. Start the shows a bit earlier and give Jeff 90 minutes, then the ABB 3 hours. I'd love to see Derek sit in with Beck on some of those real melodic fusion tunes, and then I'm quite certain that Beck could tear up sitting in on some of those ABB instrumentals. Just a thought or three. Oh, and right as BB took the stage I looked over to my left, and who is sitting at a table on the FRONT ROW? None other than one patrickcrenshaw. Sneaky little bas'ard snuck down there for awhile. And thanks for the shows Pat and NYCScammer.
