Good morning.... I've been reading all the posts about the Leno show and everyone seems to think it was great -- which puts me in the minority. I was very disappointed, on several levels. First of all, Lana let it drop that they were gonna play High Cost, and it's probably my least favorite song on the new CD. I would have preferred Firing Line or Desdemona or Old Before My Time -- not only do I like them better, but I think they'd translate to TV much better and showcase the band much better.
Secondly, I read on the Tonight Show website that the boys were gonna do Whippin' Post and I thought, great, they're gonna play two songs, like Johnny used to let them do -- remember those great shows when the boys jammed with Doc's band.
Anyhow, like Great Scott, I saw the clock ticking away and realized it wasn't gonna happen. Then the band came on, and they did sound great. But it was so short and you hardly saw anyone in the band except Gregg -- Jaimoe was completely hidden and I never even saw him.
It's just a shame that the show has to be so formatted that they don't give extra time to a Hall of Fame band, especially one known for its playing. The people watching didn't get a chance to see what these guys do best. Instead, we got two segments on Ellen DeGeneres. I just don't get it...
End of griping .... Hope all of you on the Left Coast enjoy the ABB's run. EAPFP...
