Hey, Soul Serenade got a positive review in The Times of London! 23 August 2003 / The Times THE DEREK TRUCKS BAND Soul Serenade (Epic) DEREK TRUCKS, the nephew of the Allman Brothers' drummer Butch Trucks, is a guitarist who walks the fine line between jazz, blues and rock. While some tracks, such as Drown in My Own Tears, on which Gregg Allman appears as a guest vocalist, are very much in contemporary blues territory, others, such as Oriental Folk Song and Afro Tears, are more inspired by his musical heroes Cannonball Adderley and Miles Davis.
