Hey Topdroog & BigWindy, Ever considered submitting something to HTN magazine...nice writing! BigWindy - I was LMAO! TopDroog - I especially liked your descriptions of Derek's new "guitar lick" this leg of the tour: "At one point Derek is sliding triads around . . . creating lead runs with chords . . . and a peek over at Gregg shows him staring at Derek with his head cocked, and his mouth hanging open just a bit. Magic." I too witnessed this in Detroit! I've been looking for the words to describe it. One thought came to mind - it sounded like a WWII fighter plane screaming down in flight to lower altitudes. Gregg started chuckling in Detroit when Derek played this set of chords with his slide. It was a great moment to see Gregg - with a big ol' grin on his face! I think all of us in the audience that noticed it got a big kick out of it as well. Derek or Warren (Oteil, Mark - OK the whole band) always have a new lick for the knowledgable fan to notice - it's what keeps us coming back for more! Gotta love it! JNB
