In a bit of a hurry right now - so only a few thoughts on the Pittsburgh show last might...
First time for me at the venue, and thanks to RonB, we had 3rd row dead center seats.
The sound mix from that spot was fantabulous...no complaint that either Derek or Warren were too low or high in the mix.
I didn't even think about keeping track of the setlist - but it did include Stormy Monday, Worried Down with the Blues, a Dreams with Karl Denson and a Warren solo, Little School Girl, and a great extended Liz Reed as the closer before the Revival encore.
If the Indy show was loose and perhaps only "good" as the kick-off for this leg of the summer tour, well Pittsburgh was close to perfection.
Again, Derek contiues to amaze and his straight playing is there - days of calling him that "phenomenal slide player" should be replaced by simply that "phenomenal guitar player".
Also paid particular attention to Marc during the drum portion of Liz Reed - how in the heck does he get those sticks moving so fast and still keep perfect time?
That's about it for now - I'm still toast - staid up chatting with Ron until about 3AM, then took off this morning on a 5 hour drive back home...poor Ron is probably still driving...
A few well wishes and thanks though - Donna and company - THANKS for a great preshow in the parking lot and it was GREAT to finally meet RonB and Mssrs. Ashton and Proudfoot (see ya next weekend!)
Also saw Lana and Shey briefly - always a pleasure!
